Officers of the Committee

The League of Friends of Tonbridge Cottage Hospital was formed on 25^th June 1958. Its first President was Sir William Rolfe Nottidge, D. L., J. P. who had served as Chairman of Kent County Council. He was President till he died in 1966. Major-General Sir Henry Joseph d’Avigdor Goldsmid, Bart., D. S. O., M. C., D. L., T. D., J. P., M. P. who lived at Somerhill, Tonbridge, was the Patron. Though he was M.P. for Walsall South till 1974, he became President in 1966 and served till his death on 11.12.1976. His wife Lady Rosemary d’ Avigdor Goldsmid succeeded her husband as President. When she died on 13^th June 1997, her daughter Mrs Chloe Teacher, who had been the Vice-President since 1991, became President.
